Excellent, and frightening. You may wish to use this in a future article, from a piece I wrote entitled, "Before There Was Common Core!", and about the test given to 8th graders in Bullett County, Kentucky schools. That was in 1912!
Teaching K-12th graders how to think can only be accomplished by first fixing the broken system that educates the teachers-to-be who are being taught how to mold and manipulate the minds of our young. Parenting no longer seems to be the solution, since many of todays parents are the product of decades of socialist/Marxist indoctrination.
Why doesn’t Heritage Institute do anything? That is quite easy to answer. There is no money in curing the problem that keeps you in business. Ignorance is the key when you are in the business of curing ignorance.
There is big money in keeping our youth uneducated. Look at how much money drug dealers make off of stupidity. I can name dozens of similar things that thrive when people just fail to think logically. But, then look at the other side. For every stupid action there are numerous do good organizations making money trying to cure the evil.
Luckily, you are trying to cure the root cause. That may not sit well with a lot of other organizations.
I’m not suggesting anything nefarious. I have just observed that, in general, people conveniently decide to ignore obvious Ruth’s that might negatively affect their income.
For instance, in looking for the cause of my being fat, I might chose to blame everything other than my liking to eat too much. It is human nature to be selectively inquisitive.

Being critical is part of being creative!
Agreed

SM: Indeed, teachers have to have their education upgraded.
How does that happen? The ones who speak out are ousted. Black balled. The others are all brainwashed. Alternative schools?

Jim: I hadn't thought much about that possibility, but it could be true...

Knowing the facts without understanding an author's angle can often be brainwashing.
Robert: Good point!
Education is nearly worthless unless learning how to think is at the core.
Susan: Yes...
