After hearing me go on and on about Critical Thinking, I suspect that there are some readers who think I’m overstating the urgency that our K-12 school system needs MAJOR fixing.
Although I showed this short video before, it’s worth repeating, as it makes clear the effect our progressive education system is having on a cross-section of students.
The initial reaction is that most people will likely find this humorous. However, further thought should make it clear that this is no laughing matter.
For example, consider that all these individuals will soon be VOTING CITIZENS! How many of these individuals will be able to competently choose between different energy, climate, health, economic, immigration, etc. policies?

Give this some critical thought and decide how important it is to FIX this…
My view is that in a world with a LOT of bad things going on, this is at or near the top!
The #1 purpose of K-12 education should be to teach students how to think, not what.
Why is not a single major US conservative organization (like Heritage) doing anything meaningful about what our children are being taught (curricula) in K-12???
Unless we prioritize this quickly, EVERYTHING will be lost…

PS — I am trying to do something significant about this in North Carolina, that can be replicated elsewhere. I’ll report on that in the near future, as you can help…

John,
Excellent, and frightening. You may wish to use this in a future article, from a piece I wrote entitled, "Before There Was Common Core!", and about the test given to 8th graders in Bullett County, Kentucky schools. That was in 1912!
