Forgive my ignorance, but what is vending machine water? I've always drunk from my well and carried it in stainless steel water bottle on the road, and never buy bottled tap water in plastic bottles. When I go to camp, I use a base camp sized Katahdin water filtration bag. A bear bit the hose in half but I still use it.

Thank you for that info. There are none in northern Maine where I live, but down in Portland there are several locations. Seems like a great idea.

Reverse osmosis has been my go to for 15 years. Now it just goes directly to my fridge. All my ice and drinking water goes there.

We used a tabletop distiller for years, but it was a great nuisance — and used a lot of electricity. Our findings is the quality vending machine water will do more, for less $ — and a whole lot less time an trouble.
