Thanks for the uplifting videos. My favorite is Lee Greenwood's because we always sang it every morning in my 3rd grade class in Fairfax County. This was a school ritual along with the Pledge Salute.
Sadly I'm sure that isn't happening anymore.

I am all for enjoying our independence while we still have it. I agree that "the vast majority of Americans are good people". However, a majority of voting citizens voted to elect our current Administration, which is in the process of leading us (forcing us?) from independence to dependence on China and other unfriendly nations for the raw materials and finished goods required for our expensive and unreliable renewable energy "transition". I am far more concerned about reaching an independence "tipping point" than I am about a climate change "tipping point". Both Russia and China have demonstrated the dangers of dependence on adversaries. Many in Europe are currently paying the price of that dependence.
I enjoy Hendrix' rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, the most amazing (studio) version of which you can hear on his rarely-mentioned record "Rainbow Bridge", the entire of which is a testimony to his genius. However Hendrix' version is not what I'd call entirely positive. The point of his version is the spectacular ending, in which the anthem devolves into chaos, including the sounds of machine guns. The recording is a protest of the Vietman War: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9rgKPf2a_o
David: The Woodstock version is a successful attempt for the guitar to replicate some of the battle sounds that transpired as Francis Scott Key wrote the Stars Spangled Banner. That was the British bombardment of Fort McHenry in 1814 during the War of 1812.
Great way to start this morning with songs about America as I look over a fine lake here in Michigan. America is worth fighting for and standing up for. Yep, the small woke crowd is loud, but they're on the wrong side of right...so, they won't prevail.
Here's a good article on the importance of freedom by Clemson University professor C. Bradley Thompson:
