and just mark items really needed with ` * and ones close to being needed with ` + .
I find it useful for mnemonic reasons to keep a list of commonly needed items and just mark them when truly needed . As you can see it's separated into regular supermarket shopping list and other , eg: hardware store lists .
I have few lines in my CoSy ` state window to extract the starred words in my shopping list and write them to a OneDrive file which I can pull up on my phone when shopping ::
CoSy is unique in being a notebook/day-timer environment which a high level vocabulary evolved from and enhancing APL for every day use in which any line in my notes can be executed by tapping ` F6 instead of ` enter .
To complicated. We have 1 store which I hate with a passion. I go through the ad, see what is on sale, put them in the cart, then print it out. Delete the pick up list. I walk the store for exercise and look for a bagains mostly high priced marked down hamburger, or going off market and I use it. This because of the ever increasing cost and only digital coupons, has made it complicated or simple, depending on if they have what I'm either low on or out of that is fresh or beefs up my stockpile. There are aisles I skip as those are NO-NO foods junk, frozen, laundry aisle gives me plugged up sinuses to many smells, I've a years supply when it was 99 cents on a sale. As a Semi Prepper I've a stockpile, kept rotated, and items replaced if dated right. It beefs up my garden canning. Oh, I get my long hair washed on that day, the shoulder tear makes it hard to do. Since all food comes from 10 companies boycotts don't work that well. Budlight actually worked for that specific can, Bud's timing was just a few days after a Miliant Tranny Massacred 3 children and 3 adults. $10 Mil. But they make many brands. And people like what they are use to. Took me forever to like Campbells Tomato soup, I grew up on Ann Page. Much different taste.
I may use a digital coupon, on my PC, but my phone doesn't do it, and I use cash.
The Numbers Are in on Bud Light's Decision to Go Woke
GO WOKE, GET BOYCOTTED.
Eighty percent of Bud Light drinkers ordered something else this week, Brewhouse owner Alex Kesaris said — while the 20% who did order Bud Light "weren’t on social media and hadn’t heard yet" about its new transgender pitch person.
LOVED this, John. I'm in awe of that sort of grocery shopping discipline! My list is usually scrawled on the back of a used envelope, in no logical order and in handwriting few could decipher. I'm in the store for ten minutes at the most. I go to town every three weeks, when I have to pick up 8 cases of chicken for my sled dogs. After having three weeks to create my list of five or six items, I forget it at home and have to wing it in the store. So far I haven't starved. If I don't have it at home and think I can't live without it, I don't run to the store because it's a LONG drive. I have a flock of chickens, some dairy goats, grow a big garden and can lots of stuff, and my root cellar is full as well, so all I really need and crave are fresh fruit and veggies in winter. The produce section is my main target. Every once in a while I get a craving for meat or chicken, but having just watched a very disturbing video about the similarities being found under the microscope in live blood samples in vaccinated people, as well as cattle and pigs who are getting the mRNA shots, I ordered a copy of the Moosewood Cookbook. I used to be a vegetarian in my college years and may be heading down the same path in my sixties.
Our food future looks scary. Get to know your local farmer and know where your food comes from. And fill your pantries with non-perishables!
I use my Notes app on my iPhone to track all my usual shopping destinations (supermarket, Costco, Home Depot, etc). Before I go, I do a little data-finagling to put them in store-order (for Home Depot, I use their app to find aisle and bin for items whose location I don't reflexively know).
Saves me a LOT of time.
I also make it a habit to put my keys in my left pocket, so that I never have the wrong hand holding a bunch of bags when I get to the car.
Thanks, John. It also helps to write down the items needed in the order of the store. I shop the periphery of the store first, then usually decide going to the middle isn't "worth it" unless it's a "must." The markup on pre-packaged items is quite large. It also supports Big Food who is actively working to undermine us.
