The "debates" will NEVER touch on the critical bits, Like for instance ( but certainly not limited to ) the fact that nobody has been busted as a client of Jeffrey Epstein, Not to mention the fact that it is very nearly universally known that the official fairy tale about 9/11/2001 is complete & total FRAUD and no candidate will touch that at all, so because the government lied ( and in a VERY big way ) about 9/11/2001, what are they not lying about right now?

It strikes me that this is probably the first time in American history where an incumbent is running on a platform where it is clear that they screwed things up during their last four years since 65% of Americans think America is on the wrong track yet they’re saying they should be re-elected to fix things. It seems only New Democrats and any non-thinkers would ever buy this logic.

Don: Good point. Further the Dems are also running on some of the R's policies. Of course this is all for talk...

I'd like to add an answer to the poll - 'Neither' - without the '(tie)'. I don't participate in polls without an answer I can agree with.

Because - they both lost. but the real competition wasn't between those two.

The competition was between Trump and ABC. ABC didn't 'win' either, but they came out with more points and succeeded at their goals. The first - of not letting Trump look any better. The other goal of preventing Harris from being seen as herself was a success, but it may have been more chemically induced than just from the efforts of the so-called moderators, so I wouldn't award points without a thorough blood test.

The winner was the mainstream media.

Enough has been written on all aspects of the debate - and mostly accurate. My sole addition represents the missed opportunities Trump had.

How could he not wave the Abraham Accords "flag" in speaking to the mid-east situation? Anyone but Trump would have received the Nobel Peace Prize for this. It's bullet-proof. CL

Good comments and summations!

I hadn't thought about it in those terms, but I think JH may be right that she shows signs of being a sociopath.

My response to this comment : “A very short comment. If you want the country to be run like a business vote for Trump.” Perhaps you should edit that comment to read “a bankrupt business.” Here’s just one example of his horrid record as a “businessman":

Donald Trump lost $28 million last month on the ghost of his Washington, D.C. hotel, even though he walked away from the money-losing venture with a $127 million payday in 2022. In that deal, he provided $28 million in financing to the buyer, but the loan evaporated when lenders foreclosed on the hotel after the new owner—unable to bring in the revenue needed to cover the financially unsound lease Trump had signed—defaulted. Trump had invested over $200 Mn in the hotel so he is down at least $100 Mn. What a great deal. And that is just one example.

Trump is NOT a "Great Businessman." His record continues to demonstrate that he is rather a great con artist not someone suited to running the United States.

Response to most of these comments: The Mad Hatter just called. He wants his rabbit hole back. The Trumpians are clearly not critical thinkers at all. To say otherwise is absurd. We do have problems in this country but turning it over to a con artist and a bunch of lunatics who challenge the Taliban in their views of women, who favor "extra Constitutional" measures and ditching the ballot box, who do not respect our Constitution, our Bill of Rights and our Rule of Law would be even more of a disaster that the last Trump circus was. Captain Chaos is not suitable for POTUS. Period.

It's not (supposed to be) a popularity contest. If you can't separate your feelings from your judgement, I'm happy you're not on a bench somewhere. ( I hope )

edit: I forgot to add - remember the phrase 'don't let perfect be the enemy of good'.

You should definitely vote for RFK! Hopefully not Kamala.

RFK lost my vote the day he came out in favor of BitCoin, showing that he is extremely vulnerable to cons and cults. As a financial professional with decades of experience, I understand the digital "currency" con better than most. Often RFK displays an extremely sound intellect but sometimes - as in the heroin adventure - he reveals an undisciplined, crazy side and that is not what the US needs right now.

Watching the 9-10-24 "debate" after about 20 minutes, I began to think I was watching a theater performance by Kamala, complete with excess animation, condescension and the usual gamut of debunked lies. She was reading her lines. Period. I thought was she's an actress, reciting a well-rehearsed script given to her by the "puppetmasters" running our government. They need a marionette, who is willing and able to recite the jargon, jump to their wishes, and through their hoops; any thinking human, is a non-starter as a candidate (like Biden). It was her obama kum-by-ya moment. and likely many uneducated, non-political persons resonated with the liar. (I am active in politics, informed vs 95% of Americans)

All that said, I think she convinced some uninformed voters that she has a plan. What? As a former New Yorker, I understand that uninformed voters are the majority. She has convinced some. Repetition of rhetoric, even though false, creates impressions, and the more impressions, the more likely it will be retained (marketing 101). She/puppetmasters are purposely misleading the public through this propaganda.

Trump, who is the better candidate-he's actually accomplished things in his career - came across on the defensive. But it was a 3 against 1 show. Kamalas lies were allowed to stand, and most have no idea they were lies! It was not Trumps finest moment. He needed to remain focused, less defensive, and articulate his plan. Trump needs to continually call out her lack of press conferences, his plan, and not be defensive.
