It only takes one side to make a war. Iran has been at war with us for 46 years. Fighting back and winning ends wars. NOT fighting back, and NOT fighting to WIN creates endless wars. Remember Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan? They all ended badly because we fought for a draw, not to win. Trump is not paralyzed by the Democrats (communists) who paralyzed Truman, LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Cahtuh, Reagan, Bush, Cliton, Bush, Obama, and Bidet. Democrats are imploding, Russia is busy, China is faltering, and Trump doesn't give a damn about them.
My only regret about Trump having smashed important parts of Iran's war machine is that Jimmuh Cahtuh did not survive long enough to be humiliated by witnessing it.
Persians and Jews were friends for 2,500 years, from when Cyrus the Great ended the Babylonian Captivity. Persians were our friends too. Jimmuh Cahtuh whined about the "heavy hand" of Reza Shah Pahlavi — who (unlike the peanut farmer) understood the Muslim Brotherhood and was our ally against it, undermined his government, and then sat on his hands while the Nazis ("iran" is Farsi for "aryan") attacked sovereign American territory -- our embassy in Tehran. Then we and the Persian people were reminded that the hand of the Muslim Brotherhood is much heavier than anything Pahlavi did.
The Persian people are still our friends. They overwhelmingly hate the viciously murderous regime. The regime must go, but USA mustn't end it. That would just give the communists and Fascist Russia and China and the Democrat party and universities "American colonialist imperialist" talking points. Here's a better plan: Fill a fleet of B-1s (or C-17s or B-52s) with fully-loaded AR-15s (or AK-47s) and Colt 1911s (or Glock 9s) and air drop them into Iranian cities. Educate the world about the importance of the Second Amendment.
The Persian people will need their oil fields and refineries. If we bomb Iran into the stone age, they'll blame us and Israel for a generation of poverty. Blockade their ports. Destroy their easily-repaired trans-border pipelines. This will have the salubrious side effect of dumping some hurt on China, who will need to get oil from Russia, putting a dent in Putin's Ukrainian war machine.
Another glaring, but undeclared point is that Barack Obama was raised and influenced by Communist parents and Communist grand parents, and had much of his youth education in an Islamic school in Indonesia. He was groomed and mentored for the American presidency by Valerie Jarret, a Communist, and his campaigns were largely funded by George Soros, who we all know has a bent for destroying western civilisation. Obama appointed known Communist John Brennan as his CIA head. Obama was the epitome of a Manchurian Candidate.
Americans were fooled by his "Hope and Change" slogan. His allegiance to Islam was demonstrated by his wilful financial assistance to Iran, knowing that Iran was intent on undermining both Israel and America. His "anti-colonialism" message was a euphemism for his desire to promote Communism to replace western civilisation. His not-so-subtle introduction of racial division within America played a part of his "Slow march of Communism through the institutions". He played the game of politics so smoothly he still has half of America and the free world fooled. It's amazing how some people still believe that Barack Obama was a good person when in fact he was the exact opposite.
Kamala Harris failed with her feeble attempt to emulate the Obama Manchurian Candidate Trick, so now try and guess which Democrat politicians aim to try and repeat the Obama trick?
p.s. The Council for Foreign Relations (CFR) is an anti-American Globalist organization.
The first time I heard Obama speak while campaigning...my gut feeling was Con Artist...He looked too good and spoke too well (on a teleprompter). Later, when I heard him speak without a teleprompter...he was totally inept. I read his book Dreams from My Father...it was boring. He admitted that he was not that smart or well educated. How he got into Columbia is a mystery.
A glaring error to be corrected in order to be understood correctly:
"One consequence of this was that their annual oil reserves went from $122 Billion in 2018 to $4 Billion in 2020 ", should read
"One consequence of this was that their annual DECLARED OIL SALES went from $122 Billion in 2018 to $4 Billion in 2020"
The USA has limited control over international financial transactions. The BRICS financial system falls outside of the US$ SWIFT system and enables direct currencies to be applied for oil sales between Iran and BRICS nations like Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. This means that the undeclared oil sales from Iran was more than the declared and reported "$4 Billion".
CS: TY, but I was simply quoting from the cited source, which references IMF, not US:
"The IMF’s most recent 'Regional Economic Outlook: Middle East and Central Asia,' reports that Iran’s 'Gross Official Reserves' fell from an average of $70 billion in 2000-2017, and $122.5 billion in 2018, to $12.4 billion in 2019 and an amazing $4 billion in 2020."
critical thinking? More like confirmation bias and ignorance of the fact the US has committed a blatant criminal act in its undeclared war on yet another Islamic state. This is the 8th time the US has broken internationally law and attacked an Islamic country. A Critical analysis is also incomplete without assessing how many times has regime change by the US brought about peace? Zero. 500,000 Iraqi men, women and children dead and still no peace. Where is the cost/benefit analysis? How many US lives are going to be lost? Almost 2 million illegals are in the US now, how many are sleeper cells for revenge?
MMMM: So evidently you give no credence to the thousands of threats against the US and Israel made by the leaders of Iran, or their prolific funding of numerous terrorists groups, or their aggressive efforts to build a nuclear bomb, etc., etc.
But John, North Korea, India, Pakistan as well as Israel have nuclear capability. If you remember our head of intelligence just testified before congress stating Iran wasn't there. Israel has been using this threat for over 20 yrs. IF they were going to build the"bomb" they sure were slow. You also ignore that the US/CIA deposed 2 regimes in Iran and installed the mullahs. Obama and his mother and grandfather were CIA, not communist per say. Do you have a clue how many terrorists organizations the US/CIA have created throughout the globe? How many uprisings and regime changes that the US/CIA have done? I am neither pro or anti Iran. The same goes for Israel. I am an ultra conservative American citizen and want our country to stop messing in others business to cause conflict and to stop funding other countries and to take care of our business and our people at home. I am tired of our leaders sitting in their safety places while others are on the line sacrificing their lives and health. I feel we are being played constantly. No leader tells the truth or is transparent. How much is this little exercise going to cost in money and lives? I don't want to be part of the Rothschild empire. That is what the fake jews in Israel are doing.
Yes, CIA was involved, thanks to Obama's John Brennan and Biden's Bill Burns, and war profiteers like John Cain, John Kerry and Lyndsay Graham. But Iran is still the fundamental driver of a belligerent Islamic cult, with funding assistance and enablement from the Obama / Biden war profiteers. You would be amazed how much damage was done to America by the CIA under the presidency of Bill Clinton and the Bush's. It's no wonder they have been desperately trying to prevent Trump from Making America Great Again. The real question now is what is John Ratcliffe up to? He has been awfully quiet. Hopefully he is converting the CIA back to being pro-America.
Be that as it may, the timing of the US bombing raid is a clue as to the question of cui bono from any US war on Iran. The banking elite do not want peace in the Middle East. The uniparty scored a win because Trump's MAGA base is now split because it trusted his promise of 'no more wars.' The most ignorant deception is that the Iranian people would welcome regime change. They don't because their cities are prosperous and peaceful and thriving being outside of the control of the Rothschild central banking system. Since Vietnam America has failed every time to bomb a nation into regime change and the national debt soars ever more as US taxpayers foot the bill and body bags fill with American youth. I hope you are right about Ratcliffe.

VS: Good points. I have tried to distinguish between the Iran regime and the Iran people. By-and-large the Iranian people are not the problem.
An excellent summary backed by references

Understood, but some Critical Thinking is needed to qualify the sources.

mmm: Sensible people understand that there we are not in a war. A one-time strike against an international threat, is not a war.

Quite poignantly honest and indeed, accurate!
