Hello John, from finally warm Northern Ohio. I am heartened that you were able to collaborate with Ed Meyer. I met him when he attended one of our local Strongsville Saturday breakfast get-togethers. It is disappointing knowing that critical thinking is purposefully not taught in our public schools and most private schools, also. Keep up the good work, young man from another 'young' man. Keep all those global warming caused hurricanes at bay.

respectfully,

John

John: TY for the feedback. The situation in our public schools is actually MUCH worse than you say. Yes, "critical thinking is purposefully not taught in our public schools and most private schools."

The worse part is what is really happening is that the OPPOSITE of critical thinking is purposefully being taught in our public schools and most private schools. What that is, is Conformity. Our students are being specifically taught to be robotically compliant. This is the main agenda of the Left: to have conforming citizens.

IMO this is the greatest threat to the American Experiment we have.

As I read Dr. Meyer's writings about the need for students to struggle with a problem they haven't seen before to grow and solve the problem, sometimes with others in a group, I think of myself as being older with less resources. I face new problems periodically, like an expensive plumbing leak with the plumber's help in what I can do, or my computer develops problems that I need to solve without spending much money. I sweat bullets and study what's in front of me and what are my options. As I overcome the emergency, I gain more confidence and prepare more for future events.
