If you ever watch interviews on the street of average people being asked simple questions like "where was the queen of England from", you are surely dismayed by the lack of thinking, critical or otherwise.
It seems that most people base their conclusions on feelings and emotions rather than facts. They certainly have no awareness of personal bias. Plus the percentage of Americans that haven't read one book in the last year is staggering. Reading is fundamental is just not a slogan. Children are no longer required to read in most public schools. And book reports are a thing of the past. The future looks troublesome, and the present is no picnic.

Teaching critical thinking to kids is key. Debate class for middle schoolers would help immensely. Pick a contentious topic, there are thousands to choose from, divide the class and have each half defend one view or the other. Grade the teams accordingly based on their logic and critical thinking. This teaches them to research and see both sides of every coin. Will this ever happen? Doubtful. And that's tragic.
I do believe the divisiveness between Americans has been incubated and encouraged intensely, but to what end? A new world order? What will it take to bring us back together again as Americans?

The first thing I notice is that the topic of "temptation" is missing.
Is temptation an observable fact?
It is if you are willing to separate from your thoughts (prayer/meditation).
The idea that Truth is not recognizable is false.
It is, and has always been so.
Just because some pretend that it is not, does not change the fact that it is.
Even our flawed justice system doesn't buy the excuse "I didn't know it was wrong", when they clearly did.
Our present state becomes much clearer when you understand that we all know what's right, and those who go against this knowing, suffer the consequences.
Those who do wrong are being puppeted to a life of self destruction.
That's the very nature of the Lie they follow.
One who does what they know is right, is unhurt by those who do not.
That's why Christ didn't really talk "politics" for he knew what the real answer was.

Maybe the better question is, what allowed so many to embrace the division and hatred that has led to their degraded state of the human condition?
