I believe you have captured all of it. I am not a religious person but I have thought and written about many of your points. We seem to be following a path to make life meaningless. Our political leaders have managed to do serious damage to legislative, judicial, and scientific processes and continue to damage our economy. All of this is intended to increase the power of the state over the lives of ordinary folks. Their policies have made the rich richer and ordinary folks poorer. Meanwhile they claim they care about people. These contradictions are muted through the repetition of narratives that are not questioned.
We taught people how to make sentences out of words and then gave them the internet. We did not give them critical minds! Without that you can convince most anyone that anything is true. Under such a system, the claim is made that there is no objective truth. Without embracing objective truth we are truly lost.
We are on a path of cultural, intellectual, and economic decline associated with a dark age. That will not be a good ending.
