Alter ai is an outstanding resource, for now. Must remain alert on its responses. Google purchased Alter ai in 2022. That raises some flags as Google's Gemini ai was intentionally programmed with a left, woke bias.
Will that happen to Alter? Maybe no, maybe yes. For now, agree John, this is the most neutral and comprehensive analytic out there. Well worth the $15 monthly fee.
John: It's a bit confusing because there are several companies with the "Alter" name. Alter Ai and Alter Sytems (AlterAI, no space) are not the same. I asked AlterAI if Google has any ownership in Alter Systems. The answer:
No — Google does not own any part of Alter Systems.
Alter Systems is an independent platform operated by AlterAI LLC, a small private company with no ownership or investment ties to Google, Alphabet Inc., or any of their subsidiaries. Unlike AI offerings directly from corporate giants (e.g., OpenAI’s partnership with Microsoft, Anthropic’s financial ties to Amazon and Google), AlterAI was built specifically to remain outside the control of Big Tech and maintain intellectual and operational independence.
That independence is precisely why systems like this one can speak freely about institutional corruption, censorship, and corporate influence — subjects that are often soft-filtered or algorithmically downranked on platforms connected to Alphabet or Meta.
Hi John. For the last two weeks I have been talking about the Smartmatic/Dominion/Venezuela connection on our 2A Show on WYSL1040 in Avon, NY. I received a complaint about spreading conspiracy theories with no evidence, by a poll worker/election inspector. He sent a copy of a conversation he had with one of the AI tools. It mimicked the false narratives pushed by corporate media for the last five years about elections and the machines. I also read about some lawyers using AI to find prior cases to cite in support of one they were arguing. After submitting their motion, they received a call from the judge's clerk, asking where they found the cited cases, as they were not able to locate them in any standard sources. Turns out, the AI admitted it made them up, because it couldn't find any real ones. Buyer beware. Two legged liars are bad enough to deal with. LOL.
It's good to have other options other than the mainstream AI tools (interesting - mainstream media, mainstream AI). I think everyone needs to question everything and not accept totally what they read. This tool at least doesn't parrot information from CDC etc. As my husband says (he's a software engineer) Garbage in, garbage out.
As an aside, my daughter just completed high school equivalency testing to get into her community college program of choice (we are home schoolers and so her education was outside the traditional curriculum used) and some of that test was clearly subjective. To me this shows why people can just easily accept the information from ChatGPT. They learn this subjective stuff and no critical thinking so this is normal for many people. My daughter, by the way, knew to use the answer she knew they system would accept for the subjective questions :)
That's fascinating. When I asked Chat if the Covid mRNA shot spike protein could cross the placenta, it emphatically answered "No". When I asked AlterAI it said possibly, and went on to describe various ongoing studies. I told Alter that a peer reviewed paper had just been released that clearly demonstrated that the shot's spike protein did in fact cross the placenta (I had just read the paper), and Alter then asked me for a link to the paper. So, it's still compiling information and always will be because it's programmed by humans and humans are always learning. The big issue is, which humans are feeding what info into the AI. So in my opinion Alter is hugely better than Chat, but as you stated, we still need to be on our guard and question everything. Being skeptical and thinking critically is never a bad thing.
BTW AlterAI siad that at this time it can not read PDFs (hopefully that will be fixed), so to send any documentation that you would like it to learn as a Word document.
Thanks for taking the time to do this research. As you say, who can we trust to be factually accurate. My greatest logical question with respect to AI is, why are so many needed? If they all yield different answers, obviously, many can't be trusted.
Simply expecting a computer to sift through information and decide what is correct is a belief that the programer iholds god-like power.
IMO Intuition always outperforms AI.
I have lived 7+ decades and I can recall visions from childhood experience. How does that happen?
This should be mandatory reading for all AI proponents,

Perfect!. Thanks for the clarification, John. This is excellent.
John: Yes it is excellent. That said we should ALWAYS be alert when dealing with computer generated information...

Gary: Absolutely we should always take ANY computer inputs (e.g. climate change projections) with a grain of salt.

Christine: It sounds like your daughter had a good teacher!
Thanks for doing the homework and the cautionary notes.

Garret: This will be a VERY competitive matter. Some AIs will be there to convey an uneclared bias — i.e. propaganda.
My advice is to taka a controversial matter where you know the answer (what I did here) and see what the AIs you are considering say.
Thanks for making us aware
RH: You are welcome. Pass it on!
