We need to teach the teachers how to teach. These kids aren't low IQ, they just aren't being educated. Critical thinking in best case scenario starts at home and teachers need to be able to carry it forward. Maine got a big F on the education scoreboard, yet every year the budget for education gets bigger, spurring higher property taxes, while student enrollment shrinks.
NN: Actually the real problem is that the curriculum is really bad (Science, History, etc.). As such, having a more effective teacher would be harmful, as that would result in kids being more extensively indoctrinated.
Thomas Jefferson read thousands of books on political systems and Scottish modes of education in order to write the constitution. His teachers were beyond brilliant. To teach critical thinking one would first have to teach teachers to understand and be able to do it themselves. To talk about teaching, one would first have to talk about Help. Is it possible? Is it all failed help? For a base format in which to evolve teaching critical thinking, one has to go outside the current educational system. To begin, how to study is never taught. L Ron Hubbard's Study Technology is the first true information I received on the subject of study. Applied Scholastics.org is a group dedicated to teaching educators and concerned parents the fundamentals of how to study and how to teach others teach and coupled with your technology on Critical thinking, it may yet be able to be assimilated into learning for all.
Terry: Yes, Yes, and No. Critical Thinking has yet to be declared a priority in the US K-12 systems. Once it is, Teachers will adapt just like they did ot teaching the NGSS , etc.
Honestly, I thought things were really bad, but this is appalling! It boggles the mind. What on earth have these young ladies been doing for 12 years? I assume they are high school grads? This is unbelievable. They are going to have a tough life. I guess they could be 'influencers.'
I agree globally, we're hosed. More importantly, these morons are completely persuaded by social media influencers instead of by the discernment which comes from Critical Thinking. These disinformed people will become voters who will perpetuate this destruction of our western culture!
Any other search engines I have used for researching information about health issues is purely western/allopathic medicine. Even if I specify that I am interested in integrative/functional medicine recommendations, I receive disclaimers and warnings from the FDA, etc., etc. AlterAI gave me the straightforward information that I requested. I will be making use of this one, for sure!

Yep Schools are deplorable and breeding masses who can be easily controlled. Here are three short videos showing the products of our public education system. All CRINGEWORTHY... Yes. Scary bad — which is why we need to stop complaining about K-12 and fix it yesterday.

Amy: you're welcome. Alter AI is not perfect, but I have found it better than any other AI's I have tried.

They are a PBS sponsor, in particular, "Nature". I believe I've seen or heard the name for other programs as well.
Dr. K: Thank you. What is their politics?
John, Very, very Left/Progressive.
