Critically Thinking about the REAL Red Wave
A Very Different Explanation of the 2022 US Election Results
Based on the unexpected 2022 US election results, there are numerous purported explanations floating about. These range from blaming Trump, GOP leadership, voting machines, other election fraud, etc., etc. All of those things likely have some bearing, but what about the elephant in the room? IMO there is a reality that is rarely discussed, that easily explains the results. It’s critically important to be clear about causality, as no meaningful fix can be made without that being accurately determined.
One way to look at US elections is that they are a poll of citizens about their current societal beliefs. We tend to look at the political population as two relatively static camps: Left-leaning and Right-leaning. Within each group there is a mixture of strongly committed partisans, to those on the fence, often called independents.
Most political campaigns are about convincing the independents in each group to reconsider their position on certain societal issues of the day. (As an aside, there are those who assert that the positions of these two sides are continually evolving.)
What we are not taking into account is that the number of members on each side are NOT static, particularly the Left. They are doing a MUCH better job of adding new members (mostly as groups, and mostly partisan). One example is from immigration, while another is from our education system. This is a brief, simplified discussion of that is happening in the latter — which is the real Red (as in Communism) wave.
Annually there are about four million new US college graduates. Of these roughly 75% (3± million) have been educated to be left-leaning. What that means is that every year, the Dems add a net 2± million supporters! In other words, just since the 2020 elections, there are some 4± million net new Dems, just from the academic pipeline!
Why is this happening? If we look at our academic system (K-12 and higher education) here are four major areas where students (our present and future adult citizens) are purposefully being mis-educated:
1 - Religion —
Brief Overview: Some avoid discussing religion like it’s a third rail. That is exactly what the Left wants… America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. The Left’s tactic here is to undermine that foundation, particularly in our education system. Since humans instinctively need some type of value system, the Left is promoting alternatives including atheism, agnosticism, relativism, etc. Even more audacious is that the Left is trying to claim the moral (religious) high ground with their numerous “justice” campaigns. These are specifically designed to fill the void of citizens who have dropped participation in traditional religions.
Some Consequences: On a wide variety of societal matters (from abortion to climate), the Left is fooling propagandized students into believing that they are doing the “right thing” by aggressively supporting artificial values in these issues.
2 - History —
Brief Overview: For a wide variety of reasons, no history is a perfect recounting of past events. Leveraging this reality, Leftists are aggressively working at revising American history to vulnerable students. This new (e.g., Woke) version is designed to convey some key political (and religious) messages — like most white males are oppressors.
Some Consequences: Once students become disenfranchised from their history, all bets are off. For example, if they think that they have been fooled about the history and the foundations of America, then it’s easy to get them to believe that they have also been fooled about the benefits of capitalism. Pushing beliefs of injustice, inequity, entitlement, etc., etc. divides Americans — which is the Left’s objective.
3 - Science —
Brief Overview: Science is at the core of our modern industrialized society. As such, the anti-American Left is aggressively working at undermining Science. What is Science? The short answer is that Science is a process. The most well known process (which has been around for some 4000 years) is the Scientific Method. That is now being attacked. For example, the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) is a proposed Science curriculum for grades PreK thru 12. These have now been adopted by some 44 states! The extraordinary fact is that the Scientific Method has been completely eliminated from the NGSS! Even more astounding, is that almost no one (teachers, parents, scientists, etc.) is objecting…
Some Consequences: When students are mis-educated about Science, clearly they will not be able to do a competent assessment of societal technical matters. In other words, they will be easy pickings for lobbyists and other self-serving bad actors, who are advocating unscientific solutions to things from COVID to Climate.
4 - Critical Thinking —
Brief Overview: The number one objective of our education system should be to instill in students the ability and interest to do critical thinking. Is that happening? Hell no! In fact it is quite the opposite. For example, Science is the primary academic area where students should be educated about how and why to critically think. Now closely look at the NGSS. Its message is to promote lemming-like conformance to what is currently politically acceptable — the exact opposite of critical thinking!
Some Consequences: students who graduate without the ability to genuinely do critical thinking are destined to be easily manipulable adults — which is exactly what the Left wants. These citizens will make emotional decisions on societal issues, rather than intellectual choices. Per #1 above, the situation is made even worse, as the emotional decisions are often rooted in false value systems.
The good news is that each of the first three areas of academic (and adult) mis-education, are avoidable (and fixable) when Critical Thinking is enabled.
However, other than a few good efforts (e.g., by Turning Point USA), the US education system (and curriculum) has almost been abandoned to the Left. (Here is a 2 minute video from Candace Owens on how Public schools are indoctrination camps.) This is an extraordinary error that will have profoundly negative consequences to the entire country, for all of the foreseeable future…
When will Conservatives wake up to this reality — and aggressively work to fix it?

I'm not optimistic. When Horace Mann then John Dewey championed secular, humanist public education, the dye was cast. With that foundation, excluding God, they can build only abominations such as we've gotten.
Public schools are irredeemable. They are built on sand and populated with teachers and administrators completely indoctrinated to believe that's the way it must be done.
Parochial schools and home schooling are the only viable options in America today. But like the school employees, most parents have been indoctrinated to accept this evil, unworkable system. Largely because they view it as "free," perhaps the greatest lie of all.
Quick read. Perfect summation of why the Red (as in Right) trickle is merely evidence of a more sinister Red (as in communist) tsunami. Home run, John Droz, Jr. I have nothing to add.
