Critically Thinking About Our Education System - Part 4
The Progressive's True Positions are Accidentally Published
In a very rare strategic error, progressives recently publicized a detailed explanation of their actual positions. Note that the error was not in WHAT they said, but in WHEN they said it. In other words, the mistake was in the timing of publicizing this information. It was pre-mature, as the public had yet to be sufficiently lobotomized.
A skeptic could say that there was no error at all, and that this revelation was intended to be a trial balloon. In other words, it was a purposeful test to see how well our education system, and other progressive movements, were doing in propagandizing the public. The fact that this information came from a respected scientific source, support this hypothesis.
What am I referring to? This jarring document posted on the Smithsonian Institute’s website in 2020. Yes they took it down after a public outcry, but NOT because their position was mischaracterized, but rather because the public wasn’t ready to accept it yet.
Study it carefully, as it is amazingly consistent with the NAS/NRC Framework that preceded it by several years. For example, it is on the same page as the Framework on at least five of the six problems outlined in Part 2 and Part 3 of this commentary.
A strong case could be made that the Framework (and NGSS) were put in place to indoctrinate our youth about progressive positions — i.e., set the stage for (or fueled) the CRT, DEI, Woke and Whiteness movements.
Do some Critical Thinking about what the above document says, and decide for yourself if Americans agree with the document’s contentions, and if you want US public school children taught that these things are bad. For example, is the Scientific Method a white Anglo-Saxon concoction, or is it an effective practice of real scientists of all races and cultures? (FYI, here is a more readable version, and a third version.)
Just to be clear, the following are some of the things progressives object to:
Critical Thinking
Linear Thinking
the Scientific Method
Decision Making
Hard Work
Judeo-Christian Values
the Nuclear Family
Respect for Authority
Delayed Gratification
Being Polite
etc., etc.
Arguably the most important “contribution” of the NAS/NRC Framework towards promoting progressive ideology, is that our school children are purposefully not taught how to Critically Think, and instead are trained to be followers…
The Left has a clear plan for our education system, and this is my overview of it.
Remember what was said earlier: the Left is playing the long game. Consider that the number of US high school graduates (public and private) is about 4 million a year. What that translates to is that over ten years, some 40 million propagandized citizens become voters. How does that work out for America?
Some may think that this emphasis on “equity” is needed to improve the Science education of K-12 students. However, the data say otherwise. When analyzing the U.S.'s results over the years, it's clear that there aren't any signs of improvement. In fact, there's been no detectable change in U.S. students' Science scores since 2006. [The Framework came out in 2012, and the NGSS started in 2014. Neither has improved K-12 Science scores!!!]
Part 4 is the final analysis of this special education series (Part 1, Part 2, & Part 3). To get the Big Picture, please carefully read them all, in sequence. (Note that even though K-12 was the focus, almost everything here applies to Higher-Ed as well.)
In the beginning, it was acknowledged that our K-12 education system has several major problematic parts. This overview of the Science education framework/ standards/ curriculum is to make the case that there is nothing more important — or far-reaching — than this mostly neglected element of the system. We MUST fix this!
There is one additional installment (Postscript) to help answer the question: What should you do about this fiasco?

We see the problems. Who is talking about solutions?
We don't need to be in this abusive relationship anymore with the people corrupting our systems.
Let's demand better, fearlessly, together.
Let's make plans. Let's unite.
